The 15th of November is the Day of the national currency of the Republic of Kazakhstan and professional holiday of employees of the financial system.
After gaining independence, the economy and banking system of the Republic of Kazakhstan were badly in need of national currency. By the decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Concerning the introduction of the national currency of the Republic of Kazakhstan” on November 15, 1993, the national currency Tenge was put into circulation in our country. This day became the Day of the national currency and the professional holiday of employees of the financial system in Kazakhstan.
After the issuance of Tenge, the banking system of the Republic of Kazakhstan began to be fully built. Former Soviet rubles were exchanged for tenge. Today, after 27 years, Tenge as a national currency has established itself and shown its stability. We receive wages, perform all financial operations, keep our savings in tenge. It officially occupies a worthy place in the region among other currencies. Tenge is the currency of our independence!
